Is Reiki the Healthy Alternative for those Who Can’t Afford Therapy?

We all know that therapy, as much as we need it to become better and lead healthy lives, can be expensive. So what about those of us who can’t afford it? The answer is simple: Reiki.

Reiki is becoming an increasingly popular alternative to traditional therapy for many people who are unable to afford it.

For those who don’t know, Reiki is an energy healing technique in which a practitioner channels energy into the patient’s body to promote healing and relaxation. It can be a powerful tool to help individuals find peace and balance in their lives.

Life force energy is within all living beings.

Reiki is a way to tap into that energy and use it to support our health and vitality. In a Reiki session, practitioners place their hands on or just above different areas of the client’s body. By doing this, they are able to help channel life force energy where it is needed most in order to heal them spiritually, mentally, and physically.

A Harvard Medical School study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine in 2019  has found that a single reiki session can have positive effects on anxiety, depression, pain, and nausea symptoms. It followed 99 patients at multiple sites to determine the effects of a single reiki session. The findings showed that there were statistically significant improvements in the aforementioned areas.

The cost of traditional therapy can be quite a barrier for many people.

This is where Reiki can provide an affordable and more accessible alternative. As a result, Reiki has been gaining popularity in recent years as an alternative form of therapy for people who may not be able to afford the traditional kind.

Reiki sessions can cost anywhere from $30 to $100, or an average of about £40 to £60 in the UK. It can depend on the practitioner’s experience and the length of the session as well as if any other accouterments are needed, such as crystals. Many practitioners even offer sliding scale options for those who are truly in need. This is much lower than the cost of traditional therapy sessions, which can range from $100 to $200/£120 to £180 or even more for about an hour.

Another bonus is accessibility and comfort. Reiki sessions can also be done in the comfort of your own home, over the internet. It also requires no medications, surgeries, or special equipment.

It’s also great for those nervous about getting into traditional talk therapy.

Reiki practitioners are trained professionals. They can provide a safe and relaxing environment to help individuals tap into their own natural healing abilities.

Overall, Reiki has proven to be a low-cost, non-invasive practice that has been shown to provide relief from a variety of physical and mental health issues. While it cannot replace traditional forms of therapy, it can be a viable alternative for those who are unable to afford traditional therapy to improve their overall physical and emotional well-being.
