How to Heal Your Chakra with Reiki

The seven main chakras are located along the spine and each of these energy centers corresponds to different aspects of your well-being.

The Root Chakra, located at the base of the spine, is associated with security and grounding.

The Sacral Chakra, located just below the navel, influences your emotions and creativity.

The Solar Plexus Chakra, located just above the navel, is connected to personal power and will.

The Heart Chakra, located at the center of the chest, is the root of your love and compassion.

The Throat Chakra is related to your ability to communicate in a way that is verbal.

The Third Eye Chakra, placed smack dab between your eyes and on your forehead, has an impact on your intuition and ability to see the big picture.

The Crown Chakra, found on the very top of your head, is “linked” with all the other chakras as well as your nervous system. The Crown Chakra is also dubbed the “Chakra of Enlightenment,” due to its association with one’s spiritual well-being and life’s purpose.

You can see now why the chakras are so important to keep healthy, right?

Since the seven chakras maintain our overall mental, physical, and spiritual health, things can feel very off when they are out of center or blocked. You might feel depressed, anxious, bogged down, or even physically ill. The illness or general malaise you feel is directly connected to one of the specific chakras. For example, constant headaches or migraines, or problems with concentration might mean your Third Eye Chakra is blocked and needs healing.

This is where Reiki comes in.

First, a brief introduction in case you aren’t familiar with it yet: Reiki is an ancient healing practice that originated in Japan. Not related to any one religion, this holistic practice has been used for thousands of years to help balance energy throughout the body.

There is a reason it has become increasingly popular in recent years. It is accessible in terms of both location (it can be done over the web) as well as price, compared to more conventional forms of healing. It can also be used in tandem with the more concrete types of recovery, such as talk therapy, medication, and physical therapy. It is also 100% non-invasive and involves no surgery or even medication.

By using Reiki, we can help to heal, balance, and unblock the body’s chakras to bring harmony and balance to our lives and allow the body to heal itself at a faster pace.

Reiki cleanses or unblocks the chakras by accessing the universal life force energy and directing it to the energy centers, allowing them to start healing and opening the floodgates for energy to freely flow through the body. Practitioners accomplish this by using their hands to apply a feather-light touch to the areas of the body that correspond to the ailing chakra. They will then focus on the specific chakra for a few minutes, working to cleanse and unblock with their training and intentions. This restores the body’s natural flow of energy.

If you find yourself feeling unwell, whether it be physically, mentally, or spiritually, I highly encourage you to give Reiki a try. Remember: if there are no Reiki practitioners near you, you can always inquire about an online session!
